Has your life been disrupted by cancer? The Breath of Spring Retreat is a great opportunity to learn and practice gentle Yoga techniques to support healing for people recovering and in cancer treatment.
Experienced Yoga instructors will guide you in an integrated and personal Yoga approach that may reduce side effects and secondary issues like insomnia, anxiety and pain. All Yoga teachers are highly trained and enrolled in advanced Yoga therapy studies. They will work individually with you to personalize the experience for your maximum benefit. In a small group of participants, you will learn:
- Yoga postures and movements adapted to all abilities
- Breathing practices and deep relaxation techniques
- Meditation and guided imagery
- Sound vibrations, mantra, and chanting
- Fundamentals of Yoga philosophy
Renowned yoga teacher and nurse, Jnani Chapman, RN, BSN, E-RYT-500, is a leader in Yoga therapy, with over twenty-five years of experience. Chapman specializes in training Yoga teachers and other health professionals to work with people with cancer and chronic illness with Yoga therapy. Chapman also works with Dean Ornish, MD, Commonweal and the Smith Center and she has led national Yoga organizations. She is on faculty for many Yoga therapy trainings and is a co-principal investigator on several research projects using the YCat curriculum that she developed.
Retreat fee of $545 includes:
